When you are a person who is regularly reading my sermons, devotionals, and studies on the internet, but you are not at least as regularly and faithfully reading your Bible, and being in prayer, you are in danger.
Or when you are following and idolizing some other preacher, you are on the same dangerous terrain.
You need to realize that all men are fallible, there is these days no such thing as a “great man of God”.
I and the other workers are needing God as much as you do. Just because we are allowed to bring His message to you, doesn’t make us any better than you are.
We are just tiny little men who are serving a great God.
When I just started the ministry I looked up to Billy Graham, and would love to have campaigns like he had, but I wasn’t, and will never be a Billy Graham lookalike.
I also could not live in some kind of parasitic relationship, in which I fed of him.
No I had, and still have to, go to the Bible and feed of the living word, and although I sought contact with him in those days, I soon realized it would not help me. I had, and still have to know God!
And so are you!
You can’t feed of me either.
You too need a personal relationship with God.
It’s great that I can help you, but you also need to take time to read your Bible and for prayer, to build your own personal relationship with God.
