If you belong to a church like this assembly in Philadelphia, you have REASONS TO BE HAPPY
Revelation 3:8-11
(8) I KNOW YOUR DEEDS. Behold, I have put before you an OPEN DOOR which no one can shut, because YOU HAVE A LITTLE POWER, and have KEPT MY WORD, and have NOT DENIED MY NAME.
If you belong to a church like this assembly in Philadelphia, you have REASONS TO BE HAPPY. It was the ONLY church in little Asia where Jesus had NOTHING AGAINST.
They were not working in their OWN STRENGTH for they had LITTLE POWER, but they KEPT HIS WORD and DID NOT DENY His name.
Different churches love to use this name “Philadelphia” but this doesn’t say much, for it is not about a name you give yourself.
Many so easily go THEIR OWN WAY. As soon as the Bible says something you don’t like you EASILY PUT IT ASIDE.
Now don’t say “I would never do that”, for so thought Peter, when he said that he would never betray the Lord.
And I have recently also experienced that people in groups have NO PROBLEM to MOCK and CURSE God when the Bible says something THEY DON’T LIKE. Let us always be HUMBLE and SOBER in FOLLOWING Him.
(9) Behold, I will cause those of the SYNAGOGUE OF SATAN, who say that they are Jews and are not, but lie – I will make them COME and BOW DOWN at your feet, and make them KNOW that I HAVE LOVED YOU.
In the same way as this assembly was told that those who OPPOSED them would come and BOW before them, so you may also know, that IN THE END, those who OPPOSE you now, will find out that HE HAS LOVED YOU, if you KEEP HIS WORD and DON’T DENY Him.
Keeping His word means BEING OBEDIENT to His word, so not only by WORDS but also with DEEDS DOING HIS WILL.
(10) Because you have kept the word of My perseverance, I also will KEEP YOU from the HOUR OF TESTING, that hour which is ABOUT TO COME upon the WHOLE WORLD, to test those who dwell on the earth.
(11) I AM COMING QUICKLY; HOLD FAST what you have, so that NO ONE WILL TAKE YOUR CROWN.
Nobody knows how much time it will still take before Jesus returns, so let us all MAKE SURE THAT WE ARE READY.
