Ecclesiastes 5:10 NASB
He who loves money will not be satisfied with money,
nor he who loves abundance with its income.
This too is vanity.
Other translations
King James Version
He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance with increase: this is also vanity.
Devotional
God created the earth for mankind to enjoy.
He didn’t give the earth to mankind in exchange for His love.
He wants us to love Him and put Him first before anything else.
However, due to the pleasures of this world, some have chosen luxury and money above everything else.
They don’t have time for God anymore;
they leave early and return home late because they are chasing after money.
Some have become too busy to study their Bible, pray, and even go to church.
Dear friends, meditate on the above Bible verse and ask for wisdom.
Money cannot satisfy you even if you have plenty of it.
Only your love for the Christ and your intimate relationship with Him can satisfy you.
He asked Peter, “Do you love me more than these?”
John 21:15
… Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of John (Jonas), do you love Me more than these?” He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He said to him, “Tend My lambs.”
Peter had to abandon fishing for the love of Christ and His gospel.
Friends, choose Jesus over money, and you will find real satisfaction.
