Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 NASB
⁹Two are better than one
because they have a good return for their labor.
¹⁰For if either of them falls,
the one will lift up his companion.
But woe to the one who falls
when there is not another to lift him up.
Other translation
King James Version
Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.
Devotional
Loneliness is not part of the nature of God.
In the Godhead, there is a Father, a Son, and a Holy Spirit.
This shows that even God is not lonely.
When He found that, although Adam was also a trinity (three in one), being body, soul and spirit, Adam still was lonely, He created a helper for him in the form of a woman, and Adam was happy for what God had done for him (Genesis 2:18–23).
Living a lonely life has little advantage compared to people living together.
The scripture above states that two have a better reward than one because even if one should fall, the other one is available to help him or her stand.
Dear friends, find yourself a good friend to share life with.
If you are single, desire to marry, to share your life with your spouse.
One can chase a thousand, but two chase ten thousand.
Deuteronomy 32:30
How could one chase a thousand,
And two put ten thousand to flight,
Unless their Rock had sold them,
And the Lord had given them up?
Learn to be a team player, and find someone who shares something in common with you. Then work together to achieve greater results for God.
Prayer suggestion
▪︎ If you are still alone, ask God to lead you, to find someone to share your life with.
