1 Thessalonians 1:6-7 NASB
⁶You also became imitators of us and of the Lord,
having received the word in much tribulation
with the joy of the Holy Spirit,
⁷so that you became an example
to all the believers in Macedonia and in Achaia.
King James Version
And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost. So that ye were ensamples to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia.
The gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ is the power of God that brings transformation to everyone who believes in it.
For I am not ashamed of the gospel,
for it is the power of God for salvation
to everyone who believes,
to the Jew first and also to the Greek.
However, there are some people who think they are too unworthy to come to the Lord Jesus Christ because of one sin or another.
The Thessalonians received the gospel in their affliction, and the Holy Spirit gave them joy and made them examples for other believers in Macedonia and Achaia.
Dear friends, if you preach the gospel to someone and he comes up with excuses, let him or her know that he or she can come to Christ as he or she is and that they will be accepted.
Tomorrow is not guaranteed, therefore, so accepting the Christ should not be delayed. Now is what makes the difference. He will take away that sinful habit, affliction, trouble, etc., and make you an example to draw many to Him.
May God bless you!
Dear Lord Jesus, I come to you just as I am; a sinner who deserves eternal death. Will you please forgive my sins, and please make me yours, and help me to follow You as my Lord and Savior from today. Amen!
